Good Theater, founded in 2001 by Brian P. Allen and Stephen Underwood, is Maine’s largest employer of theater artists and a cornerstone of the state’s vibrant performing arts community. As a professional theater company, we are dedicated to producing high-quality, diverse performances that entertain, uplift, and inspire.
After 21 incredible years as the theater-in-residence at The Hill Arts, Good Theater is thrilled to embark on a new chapter as theater-in-residence at Stevens Square Theater, located within the Stevens Square Community Center. Beginning in Spring 2025, we will manage all bookings for this state-of-the-art venue, transforming it into a thriving cultural hub that fosters connections with local organizations and broadens access to exceptional performances across Maine.
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit since 2003, our goals are simple: to create unforgettable theatrical experiences using the finest artists available while enriching and strengthening our community through the power of live performance.
